“The Troubles” was the slang term for the decades-long insurgency in Northern Ireland. The Irish Republican Army against the Ulster Volunteer Force; the Irish against the Scots-Irish; the Catholics against the Protestants.
Imagine now the irony as this term is being revived to describe the racial, ethnic and religious riots that are erupting in England. Another irony is that British Protestants and Catholics are united in their revolt against the untrammeled immigration which has overtaken Blighty over the last few decades. Which is congealing into a revolt against the British Establishment.
We can pin the blame for this on Tony Blair, who upon election in 1997, essentially opened the floodgates to non-British immigrants. To be sure, some were from Commonwealth countries and had the “right of abode,” that is to say, they had the ability to move to any country that was part of the British Commonwealth. Most however were not British (or Commonwealth) subjects. And a lot of them were welfare queens-in-waiting.
The particulars are multifaceted. In Southport, a Rwandan, who we are told was a “native of Cardiff, Wales” butchered three little girls who were attending a Taylor Swift dance camp. Five others were seriously injured. Englishmen rioted in response. Initially, reports indicated that the murderer was a Muslim immigrant and widespread anger erupted against that demographic. Reports that Englishmen had sprayed acid in the faces of Muslim women infuriated the Muslim community, setting them on a rampage of violence as well.
These reports were false but they were put out by the BBC in order to deflect attention onto the English working classes. Indeed, the entire British press went out of their way to blame ordinary Englishmen for the mayhem. Here is an example from Reuters: https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/british-police-boost-presence-after-night-rioting-sunderland-2024-08-03/ (Reuters was the least anti-English of the British news outlets which I have read so far.)
We shouldn’t be surprised. The British media, like all media everywhere, are adjuncts of the Ruling Class. (Or Oligarchy, the Establishment, what-have-you.) Keir Starmer, the new Labour Prime Minister, played along with the deflection, insinuating that this was all the fault of normal Englishmen and women. The police were instructed to come down hard on them; the rioting Muslims, not so much.
As in America and other European countries, it is now obvious that there are two standards of justice: one for the thugs employed by the Elite and another for everyone else. During our Summer of Floyd, antifa and BLM were allowed to run riot in dozens of cities but soccer moms who wanted to take their children to the park were arrested.
To show you how insanely out-of-touch the British Ruling Class is, I was going to show you a podcast from Winston Marshall. I was, but it’s been taken down. Oh well. If I can reupload it, I will do so later in the comments.
The British, cheeky as always, have come up with a nickname for Starmer: “Two-tier Starmer.” I’ve also heard “Two-tier Keir.” Both are sticking. Good.
The problem is not immigration per se. It is unchecked immigration. This, plus the fact that many of these immigrants are unable –or unwilling–to assimilate into the host culture. The fact that the ruling elite doesn’t see this (or more likely, doesn’t care), makes for an unstable mix.
And then, when you add to the fact that more immigrants degrade the wages of the working class, then that mix becomes positively volatile. This is the case whether immigration is legal or illegal.
At the end of the day, if “democracy” means anything at all, it means that everyone has the chance to air their grievances. To at least be heard. But when the Ruling Class doesn’t allow one group to state their case or, worse, to demonize them from the outset, then people will stop believing in “democracy.”
And when the group that is demonized is the founding ethnicity, then all bets are off.
“The Troubles” in Northern Ireland lasted for the better part of three decades. One wonders how long the current “Troubles” in England will last. One also wonders whether we will see such an outbreak in the rest of Europe –or the United States.

‘ Cameron Armstrong, 18, from Belfast, was charged with rioting despite his lawyer stating he had only gone to the area where protests were taking place “to have a look.”
Judge Rafferty said: “He doesn’t have to throw a petrol bomb or brick to be involved in disorder if he’s present at disorder.
Anybody involving themselves in this type of behavior, this type of disorder, as an active participant or a curious observer can expect to be, save for the most exceptional circumstances, remanded into custody, and this defendant is remanded into custody.”

[Given that his name is *Cameron Armstrong*,
I suspect he is Scots-Irish rather than Irish-Irish.
But that is just my background speculation.
Outlawing *curious observation* is outrageous.]

“And in the moment they needed him most, when they were about to deploy to Iraq, Walz chose to abandon his men to run for Congress.”
Timeline
2001 – Walz completes his 20yrs of service
After 9/11 – Walz chooses to re-enlist
July to Sept 2005 – Walz filed retirement paperwork
Feb 2005 – Walz files paperwork to run for office
May 2005 – Walz retires
July/Aug 2005 – unit receives mobilization order (this is approx 12 months after Walz filed retirement paperwork & 2-3 months after he was already retired.)
March 2006 – unit deploys to Iraq (over 18 months after Walz filed retirement paperwork & 10 months after he had already retired.)
Joseph Eustice held the same job as Walz — command sergeant major of 1st battalion, 125th Artillery Regiment.
“As far as I know, he did not know,” Eustice said of whether Walz knew about any upcoming deployment. “At that time, there were all kinds of rumors about us deploying. In May, when he decided to retire … we had no ‘Notice of Deployment.’ That didn’t come until July,” he added.
George Michalopulos says
CAS, the trouble with the timeline is that in the eyes of his men, he bugged out when it was time for them to deploy. The optics (as they say) are what matters.
As if that’s not bad enough, once elected, he became a warmonger –the very definition of a chicken-hawk.

Question: What do UK’s Ruling Class (communists) and Islamist migrants have in common? Answer: they both seek the extinction of Christianity. The Ruling Class is using the Islamists as their private army to usher in their brand of utopia, while the Islamists are using the Ruling Class as their useful idiots (for now) who do not know their Koran, because if they did they would realize they will be living under Sharia Law, or dead if they do not convert. This red green axis is being played out here in the USA right before our eyes. Make it your aim today to defy and expose the lies of multiculturalism, “diversity is our strength” and the like, that were the fool’s gold of the elite-controlled BBC to cloak their true intentions. We American truth-tellers will need the courage of anti-mass migration protest leader Tommy Robinson, even if it means going to jail, to keep our country from going to hell.

Lew Rockwell?
Michael Bauman says
Yes. He is Libertarian and publishes Libertarian scholars such as Thomas D Lorenzo and material from the Mises Institute.

Made the mistake of putting a ‘C’ instead of an ‘R’
Lew Rockwell is correct.

The plans long predate the election of Tony Blair.
Some sixty years or so ago, Enoch Powell MP stated that
there is no limit to the number of immigrants this country can take
(of whatever race, creed or colour), provided they do not all come at once.
Thereafter he became the most vilified figure in British public life.
Think of the treatment given to Trump and you will get the idea.
And chief among the vilifiers was the BBC.
But here’s the thing: everything Powell predicted is coming true.
Powell was a most remarkable man,
He was a classical scholar who in his early twenties produced
what is still the standard English lexicon for Herodotus:
See: Thesaurus Linguae Graecae
https://stephanus.tlg.uci.edu/powell/#eid=1
Though a full professor of Greek in Australia at the age of twenty-four,
he resigned his position on the day World War Two broke out,
flew back to England and enlisted as a private soldier.
When the war ended, six years later, he was a Brigadier-General.
He then became a Conservative Party politician
with the most astonishing career.
He could have been a great Prime Minister,
but the entire Establishment united against him.
The Wikipedia article is a good place to begin learning about him.
always remembering to allow for the left-wing bias of that organ.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enoch_Powell
Powell was a voice crying in the wilderness before his time.
However events are now proving that his message was true.
Brendan says
Powell also argued that governments cause inflation
by debasing currency through the printing of money
whereas a proper function of honest government
is the provision of sound money for the people
to transact business and measure wealth.
Needless to say, this was not popular with the Keynesianists
and bankers and those who believe that money *is* wealth
as opposed to a measure of wealth and means of exchange.
George Michalopulos says
Powell was not only a prophet, but as you flesh out his biography, a remarkable man.
George Michalopulos says
It looks like “Tampon Tim” bugged out of deploying to Iraq when his company needed him most.
“Here’s the truth: He indeed spent 24 years as an enlisted soldier in the Minnesota National Guard. As far as I can tell, he deployed once to Italy and once to Norway. But when it was finally his turn to deploy in the actual Global War on Terror, Walz instead chose his own aspirations over leadership. In a letter posted to Facebook in 2018, veterans from his unit said Walz retired from the National Guard after learning his battalion would be deployed to Iraq—though he assured his troops he would join them.
“Walz would have been the Battalion Command Sergeant Major, the highest-ranking non-commissioned officer and arguably the most important leader in his unit. And in the moment they needed him most, when they were about to deploy to Iraq, Walz chose to abandon his men to run for Congress. According to sources within the unit, three of his soldiers died on that deployment.
“This isn’t a leader. This is a man who uses others to further his own ambitions, then discards them when they become inconvenient. He abandoned his men and left the military before completing the school necessary to become a Command Sergeant Major—though this hasn’t stopped him from using the title on the Minnesota government site in his bio.
George Michalopulos says
“Minnesota Nuts” also works out.
