For months now, both sides have told us that this was most important election in history. I myself have uttered this refrain as well on more than one occasion.
Today however, I am going to surprise you by reconsidering my opinion. In other words, I don’t believe that the ’24 election (which was incredibly momentous) was the most important in history. I now believe that 2016 was the most important election in history.
Yes, you read that right. Were it not for Donald Trump winning the presidency in 2016, the engine that runs the Deep State would have gone into overdrive by now. The eight, transformative years of Barack Obama would have been followed by eight even more transformative years of Hillary Clinton and then another eight horrible years with Pete Buttigieg (or some other designated rainbow warrior) as chief executive.
Remember Obama’s two terms? If you had any reservations or criticisms, you were labeled a racist. Two terms of Hillary and if you criticized her you would be labeled a misogynist. Two terms with Buttigieg and you’d be called a homophobe for even the mildest criticism.
Think of it: 24 years of cultural Marxism, a veritable generation of wokeness on steroids. An entire epoch of social engineering that would have made our country unrecognizable. And there would have been nothing we could have done about it.
The election of Trump in 2016 upended that in fell swoop. And thanks to the last four, terrible years of Biden, we welcomed him back in much the same way that the English welcomed back Charles II to the throne in 1660.
I will always resent Obama for one reason and this reason alone: by voting for him, we thought we would have expiated racism, the original sin of America from our nation’s history. Instead, we continue to be accused of racism at every turn.
Make no mistake: 2016 threw a wrench in the engine of the Deep State. Not only did it bolix up their plans for perpetual war but it exposed the corporate media for the propagandists that they always were. As for the culture wars, they went into overdrive thanks to his election.
Of course I realize that his first administration wasn’t all rainbows and unicorns. Far from it. But it was not unsuccessful or transformative in its own way. If his presidency wasn’t that threatening to the Oligarchy then they wouldn’t have marshalled all the forces in their arsenal to frustrate him. Think of it, not one but two impeachments.
Trump was –and is–a threat to the Deep State. The last two years of unending lawfare against him, to say nothing of two assassination attempts, should put any of those doubts to rest.
Regardless, by most every metric that matters, i.e. the last four years under Scranton Joe, it was a resounding success. I won’t bore you with the details, you can look them up for yourself. Tax cuts, historic unemployment, enforcing border security, and successful diplomatic endeavors throughout the world. No new wars. No mean feats.
His was not an inconsequential presidency. Not by any stretch of the imagination. And now he has a chance to finish what he started. And by choosing an Americanist like J D Vance, we can hope that his program will continue for the foreseeable future.
Let us pray that he’s successful.

I have to disagree. Just look at who Trump put in his first cabinet and who he is putting in his second cabinet. It is basically Miriam Adelson’s wish list. Trump is not an outsider or against the Deep State, he just represents a smaller wing of it: the Likud0nik, pro-Israel Zionists and that is what we will get a lot of. Harris and the Blue Team represented the bigger liberal Zionist crowd who wanted to focus their effort on Ukraine and killing Christians there. I am glad that Trump won, mostly for the entertainment and the show, but do not be surprised when he gives Israel everything they want and the Americans nothing.

Looks like the great anti-Russian coalition is starting to unravel: The State Dept is terminating its strategic partnership with Georgia. (Go to Conservative Treehouse for the story.)
